Episode 4 recap

Rafael panics at the pool's edge and tells Elaine to abandon the ring. Elaine grabs the jewelry at the bottom, runs out of air, and passes out underwater. Edward notices she is not surfacing, strips off his suit jacket, and jumps in to drag her to safety. Elaine wakes up on the deck and thanks Edward. Rafael insults her for acting helpless, but as Elaine walks away, Edward catches her wrist.

Episode 4 Scene by Scene

  1. 00:00: Rafael Panics at the Pool

    Rafael rushes over to the edge of the rooftop pool right after Elaine jumps in. He shouts down at the water, telling her that he was only messing with her and ordering her to leave the ring behind.

  2. 00:16: Trapped at the Pool Floor

    Elaine swims down through the deep water and takes hold of the ring. Her energy completely runs out right after she grabs it. She loses consciousness from lack of air and sinks toward the bottom of the pool.

  3. 00:37: Edward Leaps to the Rescue

    Edward watches the still water and realizes Elaine is drowning below the surface. He strips off his suit jacket without hesitation and leaps into the pool. Swimming down, he takes hold of the unconscious Elaine and pulls her upward.

  4. 01:06: A Harsh Order and a Held Wrist

    Edward lifts Elaine onto the deck, where she opens her eyes and thanks him. Rafael steps forward and mocks her condition, telling her to change clothes. When Elaine gets up to walk away, Edward reaches out and grabs her wrist.

Rafael · Rafael shouts at Elaine from the pool edge after she jumps into the water.

“Something's wrong. She's drowning.”

Elaine · Elaine regains consciousness on the pool deck after Edward pulls her from the water.

“Who are you putting on that pitiful act for? Go change out of those wet clothes.”

Rafael · Rafael confronts a shivering Elaine after she wakes up beside the pool.

How Episode 4 Ends

Rafael demands that Elaine stop acting helpless and go find dry clothes. As she obeys and stands up, Edward stays on the pool deck and suddenly takes hold of her wrist. The two lock eyes in silence. Why is Edward stopping Elaine, and will Rafael notice the sudden physical contact between them?
