Susan answers a panicked phone call and goes straight to Lucian Collin's apartment. She finds him sitting on the floor in a half-shifted state after being drugged. Susan injects him with a standard suppressant to soothe his shifter heat. The treatment fails completely. Scales spread over Lucian's skin, and his eyes turn yellow. Susan runs toward the door. Lucian strips off his shirt, traps her against the wall, and begs for her aid.

    Susan receives a panicked phone call from Lucian and heads to his apartment. She opens the door and finds him collapsed on the bedroom floor. His body is already half-shifted because an unknown person drugged him.

    The narration explains this world where humans and shifters live together side by side. Shifters experience intense heats that require suppressants. Without these essential medications, shifters lose their self-control and become extremely dangerous to anyone around them.

  3. 00:47: A Failed Suppressant Dose

    Susan administers a standard suppressant injection directly into Lucian's arm to halt his symptoms. A quick flashback reveals a dinner where a mysterious powder was secretly slipped into Lucian's drinking glass.

  4. 01:10: Scales and Yellow Eyes

    Lucian pulls Susan into an embrace to steady his breathing. Ten minutes pass, and Susan retrieves a damp towel for his sweat. She looks closely and sees snake scales spreading across his flesh while his eyes turn bright yellow.

    Susan runs toward the bedroom exit to escape the transforming shifter. Lucian removes his shirt and steps into her path. He pins Susan firmly against the wall by the doorframe, pleading desperately for her help.
