Episode 2 recap

Evelyn puts her arm around Nora outside the house and tells Adrian and Chloe that she knows her true daughter. Inside on the sofa, Evelyn returns Nora's birth name to her. Chloe complains about having no family, and Adrian suggests adopting her. Chloe then shares school records to expose Nora's low scores. Adrian scolds Nora, but Evelyn laughs off the grades. Adrian arranges Chloe's ride home, but Chloe drops down crying.

Episode 2 Scene by Scene

  1. 00:00: Standing by the Entrance

    Evelyn wraps her arm around Nora at the front entrance. She speaks directly to Adrian and Chloe, stating firmly that Nora is her biological child. Neither Adrian nor Chloe can dispute her clear maternal certainty.

  2. 00:12: Reclaiming Nora's True Name

    In the living room, Evelyn sits on the sofa and holds Nora's hand. She tells Nora that her late father chose that name before she was born. Evelyn formally discards Nora's street name and gives her real identity back.

  3. 00:36: Transcripts on the Living Room Table

    Chloe sighs about growing up without family support, leading Adrian to suggest adopting her into the household. Chloe then presents their academic transcripts, placing her own top marks right next to Nora's failing forty-one average.

  4. 01:23: Adrian Confronts Nora Over Grades

    Adrian becomes furious after reading the report card and yells at Nora for failing her classes. Nora fires back with sharp remarks. Chloe steps between them, speaking in a gentle voice while pretending to calm the fight down.

  5. 01:58: Protecting the Hart Family Heiress

    Evelyn teases Nora playfully about her low math mark instead of getting angry. She announces that Nora already has a massive trust fund and rejects Adrian's adoption request, telling Nora she never needs to worry about school.

    Adrian thanks Chloe for bringing Nora home and announces that a driver will take her away tonight. Chloe collapses to her knees on the rug, weeping loudly. She begs to stay, stating her drunk father beats her at home.
