Episode 8 recap

Talia pulls up outside Crystal Valley High School. Melody Goldfang bullies Ruby at her tea cart and throws tea at her. Talia uses an air blast to fling the drink back into Melody's face. The soaked bully runs away in embarrassment. Ruby thanks Talia and explains she is saving money for her mate's proposal tonight. When Talia reaches for a tea, her white gloves trigger a childhood memory for Ruby.

  1. 00:00: Melody Insults Ruby's Tea

    Talia arrives in a car outside Crystal Valley High School. Nearby, Melody Goldfang confronts Ruby at her tea cart. Melody claims the drink tastes awful and demands all her money back from Ruby right on the spot.

  2. 00:21: Talia Deflects the Tea

    Melody hurls the cup of tea directly at Ruby. Talia watches from nearby as her eyes glow bright green. She exhales a powerful gust of air, reversing the liquid mid-flight and splashing it directly onto Melody's face.

  3. 00:44: Melody Runs Away Humiliated

    Talia tells the dripping student to change clothes before catching a cold. Other students standing nearby laugh out loud at the sight. Drenched in tea, Melody turns around and runs away from the tea stall in shame.

  4. 00:56: A Cup on the House

    Ruby expresses gratitude to Talia for stepping in. She shares that she works extra hours to buy a gift for her mate, who plans to propose tonight. Talia orders a tea to help, but Ruby gives it to her for free.

  5. 01:42: Flashback of White Gloves

    Talia extends her hands forward to accept the warm drink. Ruby suddenly notices the distinct white gloves covering Talia's hands. The sight triggers a childhood memory in Ruby of sliding those exact gloves onto her sister's hands long ago.
