Emily Chen and Adrian Shaw receive their legal marriage documents at the counter. On the sidewalk, Daniel Whitman and Mrs. Whitman confront them. Daniel spots the certificate, and Mrs. Whitman strikes Emily across the face. Emily announces their five years together are dead. Adrian prevents Daniel from chasing her. Later, Adrian invents a story about losing his hotel job to Daniel. Emily vows to provide for him. Adrian rejects an incoming call about an arranged date.

    Emily Chen and Adrian Shaw stand together inside the civil affairs registry. A clerk hands them their official marriage certificates across the counter. The two hold the red folders, finalizing their sudden union as husband and wife.

  2. 00:04: Confrontation on the Sidewalk

    Daniel Whitman and Mrs. Whitman spot Emily on the sidewalk. Daniel sees the marriage certificate in shock. Mrs. Whitman hits Emily for humiliating her son. Emily cuts ties forever. Adrian steps in to block Daniel, who takes a call from Mr. Lawson.

  3. 01:42: Adrian's Lie and a Mystery Call

    Outside the apartments, Emily asks Adrian why he was at the hotel. Adrian lies that the Whitman heir cost him his job. Emily feels guilty and promises to support him. A caller asks Adrian about his hotel date, but he declines.
