1. 00:00: Frenzy in the Cavern

   Deep in an underground cavern, spiky subterranean monsters gather around fallen human corpses. The beasts thrash about in pain, shrieking in an unnatural frenzy while the dark stone tunnels echo with their cries.

2. 00:10: Ian Arrives at the Courtyard

   Ian White walks into the Blackstone City courtyard dressed in a bright white cloak. He carries his small pet bird Sparky to enlist in the city guard. The armored soldiers laugh and mock his soft appearance.

3. 00:30: Mawson Plots on the Balcony

   Mawson White stands on an overlook beside his son, watching Ian below. Mawson explains his plan to let Ian suffer humiliation and end up crippled or dead during the mission to ruin his inheritance claim.

4. 00:54: Mobilizing at the City Gates

   A panicked scout rushes to the city gates with urgent news of a burrower nest at the west end. The guard captain immediately orders the vanguard unit to assemble ranks and march out to battle.

5. 01:05: A Scout Dies in the Wasteland

   In the wasteland outside the city, a bloodied scout pulls himself from a hole. He collapses before Master Thain, warning that crazed spineback burrowers wiped out his squad before succumbing to a purple wound.

Master Thain observes the fallen scout's purple wound and warns that entering the underground burrower nest is pure suicide. Unaware of the lethal threat waiting below, the vanguard advances directly toward the battlefield with Ian among them.
