At the dinner table, Charles Cross and Uncle Marcus berate Elena, insisting that pain is required to control a wife. Margaret Cross tries leading Elena away, but Marcus halts them as Martha Cross mocks her lack of class. Adrian tells Elena to respect family traditions, clean the spill, and apologize. Elena initially wipes the wine, but when Adrian repeats his demand, she hurls the dinner across the room and attacks Marcus.

  1. 00:00: Marcus Demands Elena Be Broken

    Charles Cross and Uncle Marcus shout at Elena for her defiance. Marcus insists that a wife must submit through pain. Adrian tells Elena to show respect and do what Marcus says instead of standing up for herself.

  2. 00:36: Margaret Tries to Intervene

    Margaret Cross steps in and tries to escort Elena toward the kitchen. Marcus blocks their path and orders Elena to submit. Martha Cross laughs and mocks Elena, calling her trash who lacks class.

  3. 01:16: Flashback and Spilled Wine

    Adrian calls the hostility a family tradition and orders Elena to apologize and wipe the table. Elena remembers a maternal mentor advising her to be a safe wife. She picks up a cloth and wipes the wine.

  4. 02:08: Adrian Promises Future Discipline

    Charles and Martha continue mocking Elena while she cleans up the wine. Adrian smirks at his father and Marcus, promising he will personally educate his bride behind closed doors tonight. He then commands Elena to make her apology.

    Elena grabs the edge of the tablecloth and yanks it upward, sending plates and food smashing against the floor. She flings the fabric over Marcus's head, jumps onto the table, and kicks him down.
