In the forest, Kal picks up Leo when the boy trips. Elena tells Kal about Church Law, which forbids married women from being offered as sacrifices. At the Valerius estate, Beatrice and Seraphina toast to Elena's death. Suddenly, the entrance explodes, and Elena strides in with Leo and Kal. She informs them the guards died and presents Kal as her spouse. She announces Seraphina must die instead. Beatrice commands her soldiers to slaughter Kal.

Episode 8 Scene by Scene

  1. 00:00: Walking Through the Forest

    Leo stumbles on the trail, so Kal lifts the boy onto his shoulders. Elena introduces herself to Kal and explains Church Law. Because a bound married woman cannot be sacrificed, she intends to present Kal as her husband.

  2. 00:57: Crashing the Manor Celebration

    Seraphina and Beatrice drink wine together to celebrate Elena and Leo's expected demise. Their celebration cuts short when the manor doors blast apart. Kal, Leo, and Elena walk through the shattered entrance into the grand hall.

  3. 01:26: Elena Names the New Bride

    Beatrice drops her wine glass in shock. Elena states the escort knights died and reveals her marital bond with Kal. She says Seraphina must become the sacrifice instead. An enraged Beatrice orders her knights to butcher Kal immediately.

Beatrice commands the Valerius knights to execute Kal on the spot. Blue magical runes ignite along the soldiers' blades as they prepare to strike. Kal only smirks and welcomes their attack without backing away. Will Kal slaughter the manor knights, or will Beatrice find another way to force Elena to the altar?
