Episode 8 Scene by Scene

1. 00:00: Removal from the Aisle

   Caelan tells the badly injured Lyra that her broken leg will not kill her. Seraphine says she is scared of the blood and asks to continue the wedding. Caelan orders his guards to drag Lyra away immediately.

2. 00:35: Aster Rescues Lyra

   Guards pull Lyra across the ground while she screams in pain from her broken leg. Aster the white deer arrives and scares the guards away. He lets Lyra climb onto his back and carries her out of the courtyard.

3. 01:03: Caelan Vows Retaliation

   Seraphine talks to Caelan about the bond between Lyra and Aster. Caelan promises that he will personally deal with the white deer once the ceremony finishes. He and Seraphine then walk together down the wedding aisle.

4. 01:40: Vows and Severed Ties

   At the altar, Caelan vows that Seraphine will be his only Queen. A flashback recalls his past identical promise to Lyra. As Aster carries her through the palace corridor, a weeping Lyra cuts all ties to Caelan's future.

5. 02:43: Aster Changes Form

   Aster carries the unconscious, bleeding Lyra into her bedchamber and gently places her onto the bed. He nudges her face with his nose. Aster then transforms his body into a human young man dressed entirely in white.

6. 03:03: A Protector in Bedchamber

   Aster leans over the bed toward Lyra. He tenderly lifts her limp hand and presses it against his cheek. He speaks aloud in grief, questioning why Lyra always saves others while no one has ever stepped up to protect her.
