Seraphine lies to Caelan, claiming Lyra attacked her. When Lyra accuses Seraphine of targeting Aster, Caelan conjures an ice blade to slaughter the deer. Lyra shields Aster with her body, taking the blade in her shoulder. She warns Caelan that her sudden death will make the Soul Bond permanent. Caelan sends a healer to save her. Lyra wakes up three days later on the full moon, summoned to sever the bond.

    Seraphine tells Caelan that Lyra attacked her. Lyra counters that Seraphine tried to kill Aster. Caelan conjures an ice blade against the deer. Lyra covers Aster and absorbs the strike, warning Caelan she will die and trap the bond.

    Lyra wakes after a three-day coma in the side hall. An elderly healer tells her the full moon has arrived. A palace guard enters with Caelan's decree. He orders Lyra to the banquet hall to finally sever the Soul Bond.
