In the Abyss, Karen awakens his glowing mark and slays a giant beast. Back home, Elowen gives birth to their son Merrick, who carries the same glowing mark. Six years pass before the demon war finally ends. Karen leaves the army camp immediately to discover why Elowen betrayed him. Meanwhile, Loran warns Elowen of Karen's return, but she vows to keep Merrick hidden. Karen rides into the capital to roaring cheers.

Episode 3 Scene by Scene

  1. 00:00: Awakening on the Battlefield

    Karen fights in the Abyss as his demon-hunter mark begins to glow. He slays a giant monster in the heat of battle. His fellow soldiers cheer loudly for him across the bloodied field.

  2. 00:51: A Secret Birth by Firelight

    Elowen goes through labor inside a rustic room and screams Karen's name in pain. The midwife lifts newborn Merrick toward the firelight. A glowing demon-hunter mark shines brightly on the infant's back.

  3. 01:03: Orders to Return Home

    Six years later, an allied hunter enters the encampment tent with news that the Abyss is cleared. Karen demands to depart right away. He refuses to celebrate and focuses on getting answers about Elowen's betrayal.

  4. 01:42: Warnings in the Garden

    Elowen sits outside sewing a shadow wolf cloak for young Merrick. Loran brings her a bowl of herbal soup and mentions Karen's victory. Elowen warns Loran that Karen must never discover Merrick's true parentage.

  5. 02:31: Riding into the Capital

    Karen rides his horse through the capital gates dressed in full combat armor. A cheering crowd gathers along the streets to welcome him back from the Abyss. Karen looks forward with a stern expression.
