1. 00:00: Staging the Betrayal

   Elowen weeps on top of Loran on a fur bed inside the cottage bedroom. Her voiceover explains that she is staging infidelity with Karen's best friend. She puts this deception into motion to protect the man she loves from danger.

2. 00:30: A Promise Before Battle

   Karen defeats a beast at the training camp while comrades cheer. Elowen arrives carrying food for him. Karen kisses Elowen in front of his fellow demon hunters and promises to ask her to marry him that evening before marching to the Abyss.

3. 01:22: The Marquis's Decree

   Marquis Voss enters the cottage and drops a decree scroll before Elowen. The document claims she carries the black plague curse, which will cause Karen's death in the Abyss. Elowen decides to break Karen's heart so he leaves her behind.

4. 01:47: Caught in the Bedroom

   Karen walks toward the cottage carrying a slain monster. In his hand, he holds a ring carved from beast bone with the word Return. He opens the bedroom door to propose and finds Elowen in bed with his friend Loran.
