Episode 2 recap

Elara Cottontail brings a bowl of vegetable mash to feed Kai Drakos in the dining room. Kai panics and hides under the dining table, shouting that she wants to steal his father. Elara spots his Officer Rabbit toys scattered across the carpet. She sits beside the table and pretends to feed the figures. Kai stares at the spoon until tears fill his eyes. Elara then holds out a small spoonful of carrots to him.

Episode 2 Scene by Scene

  1. 00:00: Hiding Under the Dining Table

    Elara walks over with a bowl of vegetable mash to feed Kai in the dining room. Kai runs away immediately. He cowers underneath the table and screams at her to leave, calling her a bad lady who wants his father.

  2. 00:26: Feeding the Officer Rabbit Figurines

    Elara sees Officer Rabbit figurines lying across the carpet near the table. She drops down onto the floor beside him. Instead of forcing food on the cub, she pretends to offer the vegetable mash directly to the toy rabbits.

  3. 00:55: A Spoonful of Carrots

    Kai watches every movement of the spoon from beneath the table until tears well up in his eyes. Elara acts like she is consulting Officer Rabbit for permission. She reaches down and offers Kai a tiny bite of carrots.

Key Lines from Episode 2

“No! Go away, fatty! Leave me alone! You're all bad ladies trying to steal my dad”

Kai · Kai shouts this from under the dining table when Elara tries feeding him.

“Hey, chill out, buddy. I'm not here to feed you. This is for Officer Rabbit. You can stay right there.”

Elara · Elara speaks calmly while sitting on the carpet to feed Kai's toys.

“Officer Rabbit gave the okay. You can have a tiny bit. But don't eat too much. Your claws will grow too fast, and if you get stronger than Officer Rabbit, she'll cry. So... want a bite?”

Elara · Elara offers Kai a spoonful of carrots after checking with the toy.

How Episode 2 Ends

Elara crouches beside the table, holding out a spoonful of carrots to the tearful little panther cub. She asks Kai if he would like to take a bite. Kai remains huddled beneath the furniture, staring at the food. Will the frightened young boy accept Elara's peace offering and take a bite of the mash?
