Elena and Cole stand at their wedding. Cole makes Elena draw a dare stick, which reads to call off the ceremony. Chloe admits she wrote the dare as a prank. Cole cancels the wedding immediately, telling guests to leave. While Cole's friends object, Elena checks a message on her phone and tells another person she will marry them right away. Elena recalls her past sacrifices for Cole and decides she is finished waiting.

  1. 00:00: The Wedding Dare Stick Draw

    Cole announces a family tradition requiring Elena to pull a dare stick. The stick she draws says to call off the wedding. Chloe laughs at the result and tells the room she wrote the message as a joke.

  2. 00:28: Cole Cancels The Wedding Ceremony

    The groomsmen tell Cole to let Elena redraw another stick. Cole refuses and says the draw stands as final. He calls off the wedding on the spot and tells everyone to leave and return for a wedding next year.

  3. 00:51: Elena Texts A New Suitor

    Elena turns around and looks at an incoming text on her mobile phone asking for another chance. She messages back, telling the sender to arrive right away to marry her. Elena then asks Cole if he means what he says.

  4. 01:14: Cole Dismisses His Groomsmen

    Cole's friends speak up, reminding him that Elena spent eight years devoted to him. Cole ignores them and lights a cigarette. Chloe clings tightly to his arm while Cole tells his friends that one more year of waiting will not hurt.

    Memories flash back through Elena's past. She worked three separate jobs, stayed in a damp basement, and drank with investors for Cole's business until she had a bleeding ulcer. She also handwrote more than eight hundred wedding invitations herself.

  6. 02:19: Elena Refuses To Wait Anymore

    The scene returns to the wedding hall. Elena sheds a tear on the stage and wipes it from her face. Instead of begging Cole to reconsider, she makes up her mind that she will not wait for him any longer.
