Martin and Diane Lawson argue on the red carpet about the prenuptial agreement. A company employee arrives with news that Laurel Ridge wants a twenty million dollar materials deal. Diane and the guests celebrate and order Nora to accept the strict terms or leave. Nora confronts Blake about the sacrifices she made during their poor days. Blake tells her to obey his mother. Nora slaps his hand away and calls off the wedding.

    Boosted by the business news, Diane and her guests turn on Nora again. Diane insults Nora in front of the crowd. She gives Nora a harsh ultimatum to accept the prenuptial terms immediately or walk away.

    Nora faces Blake and reminds him of how she starved so he could eat meat when they were poor. Blake brushes aside her past sacrifices. He tells her they have money now and insists she obey his mother.

    Blake reaches out to comfort Nora after dismissing her past. Nora knocks his hand away without hesitation. She tells Blake that the wedding is officially canceled and orders him to go marry his mother instead.
