Blake Lawson waits outside Hart Meridian Group and hands Tessa Lane a wedding invitation for CEO Vivian Hart. Blake does not know Vivian is his bride Nora's mother. Tessa carries the card upstairs to Vivian. Vivian recalls Nora leaving home three years earlier after an argument about Blake. Despite the past dispute, Vivian chooses to go to the wedding. She tells Tessa to award Blake's family business a twenty million dollar contract.

Episode 1 Scene by Scene

  1. 00:00: A Delivery Outside the Office

    Blake Lawson stops Tessa Lane outside the Hart Meridian Group building. He hands her an envelope containing a wedding invitation for Ms. Hart. Blake has no idea that the executive he is inviting is actually the mother of his fiancée, Nora.

  2. 00:26: Tessa Delivers the News

    Tessa brings the wedding invitation directly into Vivian Hart's private office. She tells Vivian that Nora is getting married. Vivian looks at the invitation and learns her estranged daughter has chosen a date to marry Blake.

  3. 00:37: Three Years in the Past

    In a flashback at the Hart home, Vivian tells Nora that Blake lets his mother control everything he does. Nora refuses to listen to her mother's warnings. An angry Nora packs her bags and walks out the front door, cutting ties.

  4. 01:01: A Twenty Million Dollar Gift

    Back in her office, Vivian decides she will be present for her daughter. She directs Tessa to place Lawson Building Supply first in line for the Laurel Ridge supply package contract, turning the massive deal into a secret wedding gift.
