In the pack banquet hall, Bianca Sterling grabs Maeve's backpack, breaking the zipper and dumping heat suppressant pills across the floor. Luna Sterling agrees to let Bianca crush the medicine bottle with her high heel. Maeve packs up her belongings and walks away quietly. Greta escorts Maeve down a dark hallway into a dirty storage room. Alone on a wooden plank bed, Maeve watches insects crawl by and decides to survive one final year.

Episode 2 Scene by Scene

  1. 00:00: Bianca Destroys Maeve's Suppressants

    Bianca snatches Maeve's backpack and breaks the zipper, spilling heat suppressant medicine. Luna Sterling mentions Maeve needs it, but Bianca demands its destruction. Luna gives permission, and Bianca stomps the glass bottle with her shoe. Maeve collects her things and walks out.

  2. 00:54: Greta Leads Maeve Away

    Greta walks Maeve through a dark hallway to a rundown storage space. She tells Maeve her parents will calm down soon, but Maeve rejects the empty words. After shutting the door, Greta mutters that Maeve shares the family's exact facial features.

  3. 01:14: Maeve Plans Her Escape

    Maeve sits by herself on a wooden board bed inside the stone room. She watches bugs crawl across the floorboards. She looks out past the rusted iron bars at the night sky, making up her mind to endure one more year.

Maeve sits alone in the insect-infested stone room, staring out past rusted window bars into the dark night. She silently vows to survive one final year until she can break free forever. But with her heat suppressants crushed into glass shards, how will she survive her oncoming First Heat without any medicine or help?
