Episode 5 recap

Chloe blocks Cora from leaving the courtyard party and mocks her in front of the guests for running off with a beggar. She claps for Brandon, urging Cora to accept his marriage proposal. Cora refuses him. Brandon grabs Cora and claims her husband is dead after seven years. Cora begs Simon for help, but her father turns away. Suddenly, young Apollo shoves Brandon back, and young Diana steps in front of her mother.

Episode 5 Scene by Scene

  1. 00:00: Chloe Humiliates Cora in Public

    Cora attempts to walk away from the courtyard gathering. Chloe steps in front of her to block her exit. In front of all the party guests, Chloe loudly insults Cora for running off with a beggar and returning as a servant with two bastards.

  2. 00:46: Brandon Proposes Marriage to Cora

    Chloe claps her hands to summon Brandon before the crowd. She tells Cora to take his marriage proposal because he accepts her ruined state. Brandon steps forward in his pink robe, but Cora firmly rejects his offer to marry her.

  3. 01:10: Simon Ignores Cora's Plea

    Brandon grabs Cora with force and tells her that her husband has been dead for seven years. Cora struggles in his grip and cries out to Simon for help. Simon looks at her callously and turns his back on his daughter.

  4. 01:47: Apollo and Diana Defend Cora

    Apollo suddenly runs into the courtyard and forcefully pushes Brandon backward. Diana rushes in right behind her brother. The little girl steps directly between Brandon and Cora, placing her own small body in front of her mother to shield her from the adults.

Apollo and Diana confront the adults in the courtyard after Brandon grabs their mother. Diana stands fearlessly directly in front of Cora and yells at Brandon to keep away from her mommy. Will Brandon and the family punish the two young children for interfering, or will the twins find a way to keep Cora safe from the angry crowd?
