Layla hurries Iris away from the ceremony while Karen watches her retreating silhouette. At the tavern, her friend Emma asks how she plans to convince Karen to help. Layla refuses to tell him Iris is his daughter out of fear he will take the child. She tracks Karen to a misty mountain hot spring at night. Karen reflects on Layla before she appears. He promptly pulls her into the water.
