Episode 4 Scene by Scene

  1. 00:00: Derek Pushes to the Front

    Derek cuts through the waiting crowd to take the first slot on the floor. He calls out directly to Chloe, bragging that he will show her true ability before touching the testing gear.

  2. 00:12: The Golden Beam Erupts

    Derek puts his hand against the console surface. A bright golden beam shoots up into the air immediately. The system registers his neural sync score at A-rank for the entire room to see.

  3. 00:22: Praise for the Ace

    Principal Harold joins Ms. Diane and the gathered cadets in applauding Derek's result. Harold openly calls him the top genius in school history and the future ace who will lead mankind against the monsters.

  4. 00:52: A Demand for More

    Derek asks for another precision test so he can push for S-rank. Ms. Diane warns that every slot is full today. Principal Harold turns to the crowd and asks a student to surrender a turn for Derek.

  5. 01:12: Nobody Gives Up Their Place

    Every cadet steps back in silence and declines to surrender their scheduled turn. Derek looks past the crowd and catches Chloe holding hands tightly with Leo near the back of the testing hall.

    Derek marches directly over to Leo in front of everyone. He points out Leo's inability to start an engine and bluntly orders the janitor to hand over his testing slot without delay.
