Episode 4 recap

Saul questions why his lightning magic still answers him. Serena asks how he called the lightning, but she dismisses her own eyes. Next, she demonstrates her healing magic on a testing crystal. She invites Saul to test his aptitude. The crystal stays dark, so Serena comforts Saul and escorts him away. Moments later, the crystal overloads with lightning and shatters. The Wald Patriarch arrives with Victor and orders a manhunt for the unknown Archmage.

Episode 4 Scene by Scene

  1. 00:00: Questioning the Lingering Lightning

    Saul wonders how he summoned lightning after giving up his powers. Serena runs over and questions him about the strike. Before Saul can explain, Serena convinces herself that her eyes played tricks on her in the courtyard.

  2. 00:37: Testing Aptitude at the Crystal

    Serena shows Saul the testing crystal and channels her green healing magic into it. She prompts Saul to place his hand on the surface. When the stone fails to glow, Serena gently consoles her brother and guides him away.

  3. 01:38: The Crystal Explodes in Shards

    Saul turns his back and walks away with Serena. Suddenly, raw lightning energy crackles across the testing crystal. The blinding electrical charge builds up inside the stone until the entire crystal violently detonates into countless sharp fragments across the courtyard.

  4. 01:54: House Wald Discovers the Destruction

    The Wald Patriarch, Victor, and an elder enter the courtyard for Victor's scheduled test. They find the destroyed crystal on the ground. After checking the shards, they conclude an unknown lightning Archmage triggered the blast and prepare a clan search.

The Wald Patriarch stands over the shattered stone and demands an emergency assembly of the family. He vows to hunt down the mysterious lightning Archmage to elevate his clan. Meanwhile, Saul walks away without revealing his identity. Will House Wald figure out that the five-year-old boy they overlook is the very Archmage they are searching for?
