Episode 8 recap

Imperial soldiers kneel, leading Cassius and Valeria to suspect Lucius is the Emperor. A litter appears carrying an Imperial Double, which quells Valeria's doubts. Cassius bows and tries to complain about Lucius, but Titus knocks him down. Titus proclaims that Valeria carries the Augustus bloodline and names Lucius her Imperial Knight. Lucius sweeps Valeria up and walks out with her, while Cassius's Mistress fumes with jealousy in the courtyard.

Episode 8 Scene by Scene

  1. 00:00: Soldiers Kneel in the Courtyard

    Imperial soldiers drop to their knees in respect. Both Valeria and Cassius watch the troops bow, and they suspect that Lucius is secretly the Emperor of Rome standing before them in the courtyard.

  2. 00:22: The Imperial Litter Arrives

    An imperial litter enters the courtyard carrying a decoy Imperial Double who poses as the Emperor. Seeing another man inside the royal transport quickly erases Valeria's suspicion about Lucius's secret identity.

  3. 00:38: Titus Strikes Down Cassius

    Cassius crawls toward the litter to lodge a complaint about Lucius. Titus strikes Cassius to the ground and announces that Valeria carries the Augustus bloodline, warning that any harm against her is high treason.

  4. 01:25: Lucius Named Imperial Knight

    Titus speaks on behalf of the Emperor to reward Lucius. He announces that the ruler grants Lucius the rank of Imperial Knight and assigns him to serve as Valeria's official personal bodyguard.

  5. 01:50: Lucius Carries Valeria Away

    Lucius gathers Valeria into his arms and carries her away from the courtyard. Cassius's Mistress stands by, watching them leave while glaring in utter disbelief and stewing in jealousy over her lost position.

How Episode 8 Ends

Lucius lifts Valeria into his arms and walks away, leaving the courtyard behind. Cassius's Mistress watches them go, burning with anger after losing her chance to control the estate. With Lucius now officially stationed as Valeria's imperial protector, will Cassius and his mistress try to strike back against them next?
