1. EP 1: A Sacrifice for a Sham

Esther discards her own stomach cancer diagnosis to pay for his care. When she steps out for hot water, Sawyer wipes fake blood from his lips. He laughs with his friends, and Esther sees the whole scene from the hallway.

2. EP 2: The Golden Heir Arrives

   Esther cares for Sawyer before starting her shift. Her wealthy father calls and urges her to join a husband-selection banquet, but she refuses to leave Sawyer. She takes extra night shifts at Vic Night Club despite warnings from her manager Lisa. A red sports car pulls up to the club entrance. Esther watches in shock as Sawyer steps out in an expensive suit to greeted cheers for Mr. Lewis.

3. EP 3: Whiskey in Room 888

   Esther assumes her exhaustion caused a hallucination outside the club. Her manager reprimands her for staring at Crown City's top heir.    Inside the lounge, Sawyer's friends mock the working girl who works multiple jobs for him. Sawyer brags that her devotion was born from a staged alley rescue meant to spite his ex. He even suggests his friends can have her if she degrades herself for money. Esther overhears every word outside the door. Horrified by the cruel bet, she drops the fruit platter. Sawyer shouts toward the hallway.

5. EP 5: Cheap and Convenient

   Sawyer's first love Winnie enters the private lounge. Esther attempts to slip away in tears, but the manager forces a champagne bottle into her hands. Inside the room, Sawyer tells his friends that Esther is cheap and convenient to keep around. He pulls out the Heart of Eternity diamond ring and proposes to Winnie. Esther stands in the room with the champagne and looks down at her own hand.

6. EP 6: Plastic Ring Broken

   Esther remembers when Sawyer knelt with broccoli and placed a plastic ring on her finger. That sweet memory crumbles as she watches him slide a massive diamond ring onto Winnie's finger. Sawyer pulls Winnie into a passionate kiss while his friends cheer. Esther stands weeping in the hallway. She finally recognizes that her years of sacrifice only bought her the role of an unwanted substitute.

7. EP 7: A Sickening Phone Call

   Esther dials Sawyer's phone from outside the room. Sawyer signals his companions to stay quiet, puts on a weak voice, and lies that he is working odd jobs to marry her. He hangs up and insults her again. Esther enters the room to serve drinks, but her hands shake and wine spills on a guest. Sawyer recognizes her posture and sternly orders her to raise her face.

8. EP 8: Humiliation on the Floor

   Winnie interrupts Sawyer before he can inspect Esther's face. The supervisor orders Esther to clean broken glass from the floor. A wealthy guest named Mr. Lee blocks the exit, tosses cash into Esther's face, and demands that she kneel to clean his shoes. Esther refuses his money and demands. Mr. Lee loses his temper. He slaps Esther across the face, and she falls to the floor.

9. EP 9: Refusing Dirty Cash

   Esther wipes the floor while blood trickles down her forehead. She keeps her Shaw family identity hidden. Henry yanks her hair in frustration until Sawyer tells him to stop so Winnie will not get scared. Henry tosses cash across the tiles and orders her to leave. Esther firmly rejects the money and walks away. Her voice catches Sawyer off guard, and he orders her to turn around.

10. EP 10: A Ringing Phone in the Hall

    Exhaustion and fever cause Esther to faint by the doorway. Lisa explains that the girl worked constantly after a car accident to pay for her sick boyfriend. Sawyer almost steps forward, but Winnie stops him and he assumes Esther would never visit clubs. Lisa helps Esther outside. Sawyer dials Esther's number to check in, and her phone rings loudly in the corridor. The sudden noise shocks everyone inside.

11. EP 11: Accepting the Banquet

    Sawyer orders Lisa to lift the unconscious server's face. Winnie suddenly faints on the couch. Sawyer scoops Winnie into his arms and rushes away for help. Lisa tends to Esther in the office and urges her to rest. Esther walks alone into the pouring rain. She calls her father and agrees to join the husband-selection banquet. Bright headlights flash directly toward her in the dark.

12. EP 12: One Last Shift

    Esther speaks to her father on the phone. She agrees to return home after three days, but insists that the Lewis family and Sawyer cannot attend the banquet. She submits her resignation to Lisa. A top-floor party runs short of staff, so Esther volunteers to carry drinks one final time. In the banquet hall, she discovers Sawyer celebrating Miss Smith. Esther drops her tray, and Sawyer gasps her name.
