Episode 4 recap: Breaking Ties

Valerie leaves Isabella's office and heads home. Her mother greets her with demands for money to cover a twenty thousand dollar gambling debt. Valerie hands over her final paycheck and cuts ties with her mother for good. Alone in her bedroom, Valerie weeps over old photos of Chloe and past culinary victories. She resolves to reclaim her career and works all night on a new menu. The next morning, Isabella waits outside in a sports car.
