Episode 2 recap

Aria Frostbourne walks into the snow, bleeding from her abdomen. Three assassins ambush her in the forest with blades and a crossbow. Aria flees across a wooden bridge, where one attacker plunges into the ravine. The remaining killers chase her past the boundary of the Northern Forbidden Land. Cornered at a cliff, Aria drops into the abyss. At the bottom, her bloody hand grips her wolf-tooth pendant as it glows white.

Episode 2 Scene by Scene

  1. 00:00: Walking Bleeding Into the Snow

    Aria Frostbourne walks out of the council hall into the falling snow. She presses her bleeding abdomen and leaves red tracks behind her. She speaks to her mother's memory, stating she will prove everyone wrong about her.

  2. 00:06: Ambush in the Snowy Forest

    An arrow grazes Aria's cheek as three assassins emerge from the trees. The Archer Assassin tells Aria she will never reach her trial. Aria turns and runs deeper into the snowy woods while the killers pursue her.

  3. 00:33: Fight on the Wooden Bridge

    A female assassin tries to snatch Aria's tooth pendant. Aria bites the woman's hand and dashes onto a wooden bridge. She dodges incoming arrows, hangs over the edge, and sidesteps an attack, sending the male assassin over the side.

  4. 01:03: The Northern Forbidden Land Border

    Aria crawls past the forbidden boundary stone marker. The two female assassins tackle her over a pile of bones. Aria struggles against them, breaks their hold, and runs toward the edge of the chasm before falling off the cliff.

  5. 01:28: The Awakening in the Chasm

    The assassins look over the ledge and assume Aria is dead, choosing to report back to Lyra. Below on a pile of animal bones, an unconscious Aria clutches her bloody tooth pendant as it bursts into blazing white light.

Aria · Said while limping through the snow outside the council hall after her exile.

“Someone told me to say this: you won't make it to the trial.”

Archer Assassin · Said when confronting Aria in the forest to reveal their murder mission.

“Your death will look simple: you failed to shift, went mad, ran into the forbidden zone, and fell.”

Archer Assassin · Said while tracking Aria down to explain the cover-up for her murder.

“No one survives that drop. Even if she's alive she can't climb back. Let's go, miss Lyra will be pleased.”

Female assassin · Said at the cliff edge before abandoning the search to inform Lyra.

How Episode 2 Ends

The assassins leave the cliff edge to report Aria's death to Lyra. Far below in the gorge, Aria lies unconscious across a bed of bones. Her blood-soaked hand grips the tooth pendant, which suddenly blazes with bright white light. Will this glowing relic revive her, and what power is about to awaken inside the chasm?
