Maeve realizes Aria used her savings card to buy the secondhand gift. When Maeve speaks up at dinner, Aria weeps and feigns breathing trouble. Her father strikes Maeve with an open palm. Carter watches without sympathy, and Damon tells Maeve to back down. Aria then winds a music box with high-pitched noise. Maeve falls onto shards of glass in deep pain. Damon pauses his rescue when Aria shrieks about her finger.

  1. 00:00: Confrontation Over the Used Earbud

    Maeve learns Aria charged fourteen hundred dollars to her card for the broken earbud. That money was Maeve's hard-earned checkup fund. Maeve stands by the dining table and angrily asks Aria why she bought garbage with stolen money.

  2. 00:13: Aria Fakes a Medical Crisis

    Aria sheds tears and claims she did not know the card belonged to Maeve. Maeve slams the table and stands up furiously. She accuses Aria of ruining her ear and taking her surgery money. Aria clutches her chest and fakes shortness of breath.

  3. 00:32: A Slap Across the Face

    Maeve's father charges over and violently strikes her across the cheek. He shouts that she wants to murder Aria. Maeve's mother embraces Aria protectively, Carter glares with contempt, and Damon commands Maeve to stop agitating Aria.

  4. 00:51: Shattered Glass and High Frequencies

    Aria opens a music box that screeches with piercing high frequencies. The sound triggers agonizing ear pain in Maeve. Maeve knocks over furniture and crashes into broken glass, bleeding from her head and hands as Damon hesitates to reach out.
