In the council hall, Julian, Sigrid, and the elders mock Freya's warnings about the Blood Moon. The patriarch slams his staff down and banishes Freya from the castle. Freya leaves on horseback with the gates closing behind her. She reaches her farmland with Captain Raine and orders the peasants to harvest the wheat immediately for double pay. Raine kneels and swears his loyalty. Freya then pulls out a red-crystal staff as forty-five hours remain.
