The Graystone Range mech hunt begins with synthetic monster waves. The Shaws field Stella, Victor, and Toby while rejecting Ash. Stella pilots Azure Phoenix to rack up fast kills. Ash warns that her overextension will ruin her in the next wave. Toby mocks him, but mechanical bears quickly punish Stella's bad recoveries. Her score drops down to 29 points. Quentin watches closely and decides Stella is not the hidden ace.
