After Valentina texts her foster father back in her room, a maid announces Luca Marchetti's arrival. Luca examines Valentina's scuffed shoes and puts their betrothal on pause. Unbothered, Valentina ridicules his pompous demand for politeness. An insulted Luca storms away, prompting Elena to hurry out after him.

  1. 00:00: Tension at the Dining Table

    Valentina confronts Elena over her phony goodwill in front of the family. Mrs. Cassale tries to calm everyone down to restore peace. Elena bows her head and weeps silently while the rest of the table stops speaking.

  2. 00:40: A Visitor at the Door

    Up in her bedroom, Valentina types a brief reply to her foster father's text message. A maid knocks on the bedroom door seconds later. She informs Valentina that Luca Marchetti has arrived at the mansion.

  3. 00:54: Luca Pauses the Engagement

    Luca sneers at Valentina's battered clothes and tells Mrs. Cassale the marriage is paused. Valentina lounges on the couch and mocks his arrogance. Enraged by her sarcasm, Luca slams the door and leaves as Elena runs after him.
