Episode 5 recap

Under a crimson moon, Aion's condition worsens because of his flawed core. Celestia decides to take him to the divine realm using Azriel's dragon medallion. At the palace, Joy draws herself with Celestia and Aion. Mortis arrives with starlight nectar, but Joy rejects her. When Mortis spots the drawing, she realizes Celestia is alive and shreds the paper. Mortis shoves Joy, cutting the girl's forehead. Azriel arrives at the entrance and sees the attack.

Episode 5 Scene by Scene

  1. 00:00: Celestia Leaves the Wasteland

    A crimson moon rises while Aion grows weaker from his flawed divine core. Celestia spots the dragon medallion Azriel gave her son. She remembers Azriel's promise and prepares to carry Aion to the divine realm to locate his father.

  2. 00:39: Joy Rejects the Queen

    Joy sits in the palace grand hall and sketches Celestia, Aion, and herself holding hands. Mortis enters carrying a box filled with starlight nectar. Joy refuses the gift and tells Mortis that she knows Mortis is not her real mother.

  3. 01:17: Mortis Shreds the Family Drawing

    Mortis looks at the parchment and realizes Celestia survived and met Joy. Fearing the loss of her crown and status as Dragon Queen, Mortis panics. She grabs the drawing from the table and tears it down the middle.

  4. 01:37: Mortis Attacks Princess Joy

    Joy tries to grab the torn drawing, but Mortis violently shoves her down. Joy hits a jewelry box and bleeds from her forehead. When Joy threatens to tell Azriel, Mortis loses control and shakes the bleeding child furiously.

  5. 02:04: Azriel Catches Mortis in the Act

    Azriel suddenly steps into the palace hall surrounded by bright light. His face fills with cold fury as he looks across the room. He catches Mortis violently grasping and screaming at his injured, bleeding daughter.

Joey · Joey refuses the gift when Mortis approaches her in the grand hall.

“It really is Selestia. She's not dead, and she's met Joy. No, I absolutely cannot let Azrael learn the truth or my position as Dragon Queen, everything, will be ruined.”

Mortis · Mortis panics after looking at the drawing Joy made of Celestia.

“Go away, you wicked woman! Don't touch me! I'm going to tell Daddy you hit me!”

Joey · Joey screams after Mortis shoves her to the floor and draws blood.

“This is how you treat Joy?”

Azriel · Azriel confronts Mortis after witnessing her aggressively shaking his bleeding daughter.

How Episode 5 Ends

Azriel stands at the doors of the grand hall, glaring at Mortis while she violently shakes the bleeding child. His arrival interrupts the attack before Mortis can hide her actions. Will Azriel punish Mortis for harming Joy, and will Celestia arrive at the divine realm in time to save Aion's failing life?
