Lyra Frost attends her bonding ceremony with Adrian. Behind a floral vine wall, the brides take part in a tail-picking game. Adrian knows Lyra's scent, but he deliberately pulls Ruby's ribbon instead. He shields Ruby with his peacock feathers. Lyra tells Adrian to marry Ruby. Then Adrian's brother Milo shows that he pulled Lyra's ribbon and demands she accept him. The beastfolk laugh at Lyra while Adrian holds Ruby and stays silent.

  1. 00:00: The Tail Picking Game Begins

    Lyra describes her bonding ceremony beginning in the hall. Peacock clan nobles organize a traditional tail-picking game. Lyra and the other brides wait behind a floral vine wall while the grooms prepare to make their choices.

  2. 00:18: Childhood Play in the Meadow

    A memory returns to a riverside meadow years earlier. Young Lyra and young Adrian play together as cubs. Adrian spends his days near her and learns her scent during their time together in the grass.

  3. 00:23: Adrian Pulls the Wrong Ribbon

    Lyra wags her tail tied with a ribbon behind the flower wall. Adrian reaches past her ribbon and pulls a different one instead. He brings out Ruby. The watching guests erupt into loud uproar and mock Lyra.

  4. 00:43: Feathers Spread to Shield Ruby

    Adrian spreads out his peacock feathers across the ceremony floor to cover Ruby. Lyra steps forward and speaks to him with a cold voice. She tells him to drop the game and marry Ruby as his bride instead.

  5. 01:02: Milo Claims Lyra as Fate

    Adrian's brother Milo steps out and shows that he pulled Lyra's ribbon. He tells Lyra to accept her luck and not stay angry. Other beastfolk laugh at Lyra and tell her not to ruin the ceremony's mood.

  6. 01:24: Adrian Stays Silent Beside Ruby

    The crowd laughs at Lyra as she stands exposed on the floor. Adrian holds Ruby close against his side and keeps his eyes fixed ahead. He refuses to speak a single word to defend Lyra from the jeering guests.
