On the eve of the SAT, Ethan stops his classmates from partying for Brandon's birthday. They get high scores, but Brandon goes alone and gets beaten at a bar. Blaming Ethan, Sarah and the class push Ethan off a roof and frame him to police. Thugs set fire to Ethan's home, killing his parents while Sarah watches. Brandon lies on a live stream to gain followers, then hooks up with a blonde woman.

Episode 1 Scene by Scene

  1. 00:00: Dispute in the Classroom

    Sarah asks the entire class to celebrate Brandon's eighteenth birthday at a bar the night before the SAT. Ethan advises everyone to stay and study instead. The classmates ridicule him, push him aside, and accuse him of jealousy.

  2. 00:30: Taking the SAT Exam

    Ethan ignores the insults and phones each classmate to make sure they study at home. He gathers everyone under the hot sun to take the test. When scores arrive, the class beats their predicted results.

  3. 00:48: Brandon in the Hospital

    Terrible news strikes the students on score release day. Brandon secretly visited the bar alone on his birthday. A married woman's husband attacked him there, breaking his limbs and putting him in the hospital.

  4. 00:57: Murder on the Roof

    A furious Sarah leads the classmates against Ethan. Together, they push Ethan from a tall building to his death. Later, the students tell the police that Ethan prevented Brandon's rescue and jumped.

  5. 01:23: Fire at Ethan's House

    Thugs dump gasoline around Ethan's home and ignite it, trapping both of his parents inside the flames. Sarah observes the fire from her neighboring balcony. She waits quietly until both parents die before calling police.

  6. 01:39: Brandon's Deceptive Broadcast

    Brandon launches a live broadcast to publicize his forgiveness of Ethan. He gains a million followers and announces plans to study abroad. Right after ending the stream, Brandon climbs into bed with the blonde woman.
