Richard, Clara, and Julian arrive, call Victor their father, and admit Victor helped them drain the company. Grace and the children pin Thomas to force him to sign Bennett Timber away. Suddenly, a secretary announces Harriet Walker, who enters and orders them to stop.

Grace Whitmore mocks Thomas Bennett about her romance with Victor Crane. Victor promises to sign the four-million-dollar check if Thomas kneels before him. Thomas rejects the demand, chooses to keep his dignity, and turns to walk out the door.
00:30: Victor Strikes Thomas Down
Victor Crane hits Thomas Bennett behind the knee using a walking cane. The blow knocks Thomas directly to the floor. Victor steps onto Thomas's back to hold him down and hurls insults at him while he lies helpless.
01:13: The Stepchildren Choose Victor
Richard, Clara, and Julian enter the office and call Victor Crane their real father. Richard explains that Victor guided them step by step on how to take the funds from Bennett Timber and leave the business bankrupt.
01:52: Victor Demands the Company
Grace Whitmore admits she hated living with Thomas Bennett and planned the betrayal. Victor Crane throws contract papers in front of Thomas. He offers a four-million-dollar check on the condition that Thomas signs over Bennett Timber entirely.

Thomas Bennett refuses to give up his company. Richard, Clara, and Julian grab his arms and hold him against the floor. Grace Whitmore grabs a pen and forces it into Thomas's fingers to forge his signature onto the contract.

A secretary rushes into the room to say President Walker is here. Victor Crane stops the assault immediately. Harriet Walker walks in carrying the brass plumb bob in her hand and shouts for everyone to stop right where they are.
