Serena returns home after five years abroad. Kyle Joe meets her at the airport terminal and cautions her to be gentle with Mia. During the car ride home, Kyle mentions Damon's dinner gathering at Ninth Heaven. Serena looks at screenshots on her phone and sees her old circle planning how to shield Mia from her. When they pull up to the Gu family residence, Serena runs directly into her waiting mother's arms in tears.

Episode 1 Scene by Scene

  1. 00:00: Arrival at the Airport Terminal

    Serena walks through the airport terminal after living overseas for five years. Her childhood friend Kyle Joe greets her at the gate. Instead of a warm welcome, Kyle tells her to stay calm and not frighten Mia.

  2. 00:55: Group Chat Messages in the Car

    Kyle drives Serena down the highway and mentions Damon's dinner at Ninth Heaven. Serena checks her phone and reads leaked group chat screenshots. Her former friends discuss strategies to defend Mia from her before she even meets them.

  3. 01:48: Reunion at the Gu Residence

    The car arrives outside the Gu family estate, where Mother Gu stands waiting near the driveway. Serena quickly gets out of the vehicle, rushes forward to her mother, and breaks down in tears while holding her tightly.
