1. EP 1: The Death Row Gamble

   Theo awakens inside a prison cell beneath a bloody arena. Guard Derek Yates pushes him into the pit with brittle weapons against the Ironhide Tiger Fiend. The beast slaughters Theo's companions and crushes his spear. On the verge of death, Theo triggers the Last-Stand Protocol. He burns ten years of his lifespan to reflect the beast's lethal strike. Theo finishes the monster. He advances to mid-stage Body Tempering and gains the Ironhide Bones talent.

2. EP 2: Blood Contract Choice

   Miss Smith collects her massive payout after backing Theo at long odds. She offers to hire him as her bodyguard, but Theo declines. Instead, he signs a blood contract with Mr. Wood to fight more fiends for cultivation gains. Derek and Mr. Wood secretly plot to rig the next fight with a fatal creature to rob the betting pool. Meanwhile, Theo tests his new passive skill. He discovers that taking damage levels him up.

3. EP 3: Shadow Mantis Ambush

   Theo returns to the arena pit while Miss Smith wagers all her money on his victory. A hidden Shadow Mantis ambushes him with extreme speed. Theo absorbs relentless blows and spits blood. The damage maxes out his steel bones skill and unlocks an adhesive attack. Theo pins the mantis down and slaughters it. This kill grants him the crisis perception talent. Up on the balcony, the arena boss flies into a rage over massive financial losses.

4. EP 4: The Venomous Viper

   Miss Smith warns Theo at a courtyard well that Sean Wood wants him dead. Crossbow bolts suddenly rain down on them, and Sean releases a giant Tier 2 Venom Viper. The serpent constricts Theo until Miss Smith's armored guard arrives. The guard reveals a Xuantian Sect token, which forces Sean to his knees in terror. Theo claims the paralyzed viper as payment and executes the beast. He absorbs its power to acquire the bone-rotting poison talent.

5. EP 5: The Wilderness Inn

   Theo escorts Miss Smith along a mountain road while planning to search for his predecessor's missing sister. The party stops at an isolated inn run by an alluring woman and two fox children. Theo eats their food while the guards ask about nearby Tier 3 fiends. When the innkeeper pours water, she brushes Theo's wrist. Theo's system triggers an emergency warning. Her eyes shift into beastly slit pupils. Theo realizes she is a dangerous fiend.

6. EP 6: Toxin Absorption

   Theo realizes the mist in the inn contains an odorless poison from a Tier 3 fox fiend. He warns Miss Smith, but the innkeeper blocks the exit. The poison knocks out Miss Smith and her guards. The innkeeper reveals her fox ears and tails to feed her cubs. Theo's system absorbs the toxin and upgrades his poison resistance. Immune to the deadly mist, Theo steps forward to challenge the demoness.

7. EP 7: A Face-Saving Bluff

   Theo faces the Fox Fiend and claims his poison will permanently disfigure her face. Terrified of losing her looks, the vain demoness rushes to a cold lake to purge the venom. Theo absorbs the toxins from Miss Smith and her guards so they can flee into the woods. At a night campfire, Theo admits his threat was a bluff. Miss Smith rewards him, but a violent flash of light suddenly strikes toward their camp.

8. EP 8: Redirecting the Beast

   The Fox Fiend and the black-robed Wolf Fiend ambush the carriage on the road. Miss Smith orders everyone to scatter. The wolf transforms into a giant beast and chases Theo down a forest path. Boss Wood suddenly appears with thugs to corner Theo. Theo loudly greets Wood as a partner hired to hunt the wolf. The enraged beast pounces on Wood's gang, and Theo escapes into a rocky canyon.

9. EP 9: Slaying Cangya

   The wolf fiend Cangya corners Theo inside the canyon. Theo burns twenty years of life to reflect an attack, but the blow only chips the beast's claw. Theo fakes a surrender to lure Cangya into throwing his strongest strike. Theo reflects the maximum blow while his poison weakens the monster. Theo executes Cangya and reaches Late Blood Condensation. He crafts a curved saber from the beast's claw and slashes a boulder in half.
