I Broke My Engagement At The Equestrian Gala: Recap by Episode

1. EP 1: Stall Dispute

Riley Hayes rides on her Western ranch before her father calls. He instructs her to drive to Ravenport for a charity equestrian gala to meet her fiancé, Adrian Calloway. When Riley arrives at reserved stall HC-001 with Ranger, Adrian's arrogant secretary occupies it with a white horse. Riley calls Adrian to report the claim. Adrian cuts her off and hangs up. The secretary sneers and demands payment for Ranger touching the horse.

2. EP 2: The Threat

Riley spots the security cameras and suggests calling the police to resolve the dispute. Vanessa laughs off the idea. She shoves Riley and warns her she cannot leave Ravenport without paying. Gala guests gather around the aisle to watch. Bystanders whisper among themselves that the white horse is Adrian's favorite import. They also note that Adrian ruthlessly backs his secretary in every dispute. Local gossip suggests Riley cannot win here.

3. EP 3: Dodging Blows

Vanessa boasts that Adrian would only care about her hand if she slapped Riley. She tries to hit Riley multiple times. Riley effortlessly dodges every swing. A guest in a blue dress advises Riley to take the hit so the situation does not worsen. Riley remembers her father's rule against public brawling and keeps her hands down. Vanessa steps up to strike Riley again. A commanding male voice suddenly shouts for them to stop.

4. EP 4: Calloway Arrives

Adrian arrives with his security guards and tells Vanessa to behave in public. He confirms Riley's identity, but cuts her off with a flick of his hand. Judging Riley by her Western clothing, Adrian declares they are incompatible and tells her to leave. Riley calls him out for being rude. Adrian announces to the room that he has no clue why his father arranged the marriage. Surrounding guests gasp in shock at the revelation.

5. EP 5: Ring Returned

Gala attendees mock Riley for looking like ordinary ranch help. Riley refuses to argue and asks for her family ring back to end the engagement. Adrian retrieves the ring box and hands it over. He arrogantly offers to pay for her travel costs. Riley takes the ring and turns to leave with Ranger. Vanessa stops her and whispers into Adrian's ear. Adrian immediately calls Riley back and accuses her of injuring his horse.

6. EP 6: Ten Million Demand

Riley ignores Vanessa's complaints and asks directly for the compensation figure. Adrian states that his warmblood horse cost six hundred thousand dollars. Riley tells him to name the price. Vanessa steps forward and demands ten million dollars for supposed potential damages. Adrian questions the absurd amount, but Vanessa insists Riley must pay it. To the shock of the entire crowd, Riley remains calm and agrees to pay the full ten million dollars.

7. EP 7: The Hayes Crown Line

Riley explains that barn workers injured Ranger's leg while dragging him out of the stall. She points out his fresh bandage and demands accountability. Vanessa scoffs, claiming Ranger is a cheap farm horse worth thirty thousand dollars at most. Riley reveals Ranger's official registration number HC-001 from the prestigious Hayes Crown bloodline. Vanessa ignores the name. She issues an ultimatum that Riley will not leave Ravenport without handing over ten million dollars.

8. EP 8: The Phone Call

Riley recalls how her father crushed the businesses of the last man who threatened their family. She pulls out her phone and calls her father. Riley explains that Ranger is hurt and that people in Ravenport are attempting to extort ten million dollars. Her father coldly asks for their names. Vanessa rudely grabs the phone from Riley's hand. She speaks into the receiver and gives Riley's father twenty minutes to pay ten million dollars.
