   Mateo lies awake in bed and thinks back to their physical clash on the workout mat. Next door, Liam tosses under the covers. Tears stream down Liam's face as a painful memory takes over his sleep.

   Liam relives a warehouse ambush in his nightmare. Scarred Gangster and a braided accomplice pin him down over his father's unpaid match-fixing debts. The criminal threatens to destroy Liam's right leg unless he throws his next hockey match.

   Mateo hears Liam shouting in distress and dashes into the bedroom. He gathers Liam into his arms and speaks softly to him. Liam stops panicking, wraps his arms around Mateo, and holds onto him tightly in bed.
