Summary
Lethal Vows: Married to My Rival is a gritty contract-marriage thriller that combines the hidden-identity assassin trope with forced proximity, making it a great pick for fans of ruthless antiheroes, vengeful brides, and dangerous mutual obsession.
The plot wastes no seconds setting up its high-stakes board. Former top assassin Elena Sterling leaves her lethal past behind to walk down the aisle. Her fiancé Julian schemes with a mistress behind closed doors, steals her millions, and spikes her wedding wine with poison. Elena pulls a combat dagger from beneath her gown, carves through bodyguards, and hunts Julian through the rain. Before she can finish the job, her treacherous adoptive brother Lucas sells her out to settle a gambling debt. She ends up bound in an underground arena facing starving beasts.
That is where underworld boss Dominic Rossi crashes the party. Dominic recognized the scar on her shoulder from fifteen years ago, when young Elena saved his life during childhood training. Instead of a simple rescue, he offers a bargain: a six-month fake engagement. Elena needs his power to heal and uncover who destroyed her old assassin camp. Dominic needs her to keep hostile family elders off his neck. Both lead characters keep weapons close and intentions guarded, turning their contract marriage into an armed standoff.
